DIESEL LUKKET / DIESEL CLOSED Superflex was invited by Radar, a four-day-long cultural event in the cross-zone between electronic music, art, and technology, to exhibit in the Diesel shop on Købmagergade in Copenhagen, Denmark. Superflex suggested closing down the Diesel shop during the period from 26-29 September with the shopfront windows painted white, with block letters painted in black "CLOSED." The project was a direct appeal to Diesel's own campaign "Action for Successful Living, This Is A Wakeup Call for the Rebel Inside You." The Diesel clothing label was founded 20 years ago in Italy, where Diesel originally began producing jeans and casual wear. Today, Diesel is represented in over 80 countries with 10,000 retail locations and over 50 exclusive shops. Diesel was a sponsor for Radar. The project was rejected by Diesel and therefore not carried out. ![]() Superflex 2002 Graphic design in collaboration with Rasmus Koch |
